After I was featured in a Washington Post article, I found myself asking a deeper question: why do I keep doing animal communication?
Part of that questioning came from the response to the article. Many commenters were skeptical of animal communication, so I wrote a blog, “Is animal communication a scam?” to address those doubts directly.
Sometimes people assume I’m retired because of my age. When I tell them I’m still working, the discussion stumbles a bit. I sense a belief that people need to stop working to really enjoy life.
The thing is, communicating with animals enriches my life. Helping people and their animals find more ease, understanding, and joy lights me up. I’m addicted, to tell you the truth.
Animal communication keeps me connected to the joy of life
It’s easy for me to notice everything that feels heavy, frightening, or wrong with the world.
But connecting with wonderful people and their wondrous animals brings me back to the joy of life. Even when they are facing a dire diagnosis, an imminent goodbye, or the ache of a transition that has already happened, I get to witness the immense love they have for each other.
And as my body and mind age, this work nourishes me. It exercises my brain and opens my heart. I get to work with Sacred, Divine Beings whose energy and wisdom are good for all of us.
Collaboration with people and their animals
I seek true collaboration with my clients, and that includes the non-human beings at the heart of the session.
When I let go of needing to be perfect, my focus shifts to what I can bring to the session with honesty, humility, and care.
Learning how to quiet my ego has been both a real challenge and a big reward in every part of my life. It has taught me to listen more deeply so that, together, we can create the best outcome possible.
Look, I know this isn’t all about me. My hope is that you see yourself in the people I admire so much: people who love their animals beyond reason and do everything they can to give them a good life. Spending time with you and your beloved animals is, truly, the best.
