Three Fun Cat Stories Part 1

It’s time for some fun cat stories, because we all need to lighten up sometimes! Here’s my first of three stories.

Bunnie’s fun cat story

This fun cat story is about my white cat, Bunnie. Bunnie is a Cat with Attitude. She deeply loves who she loves AND makes it clear to everyone else that they are ruining her life.

I am exaggerating, but not by much. The good news is that lately she’s mellowing. Finally.

Dental surgery isn’t fun

Recently, we had to take Bunnie to the veterinarian for some major dental surgery. It was sorely needed as four of her teeth were causing her pain.

The night before, husband Charlie and I created a plan where he would quietly get the carrier while I stealthily picked up Bunnie to get her in the carrier. It worked – she went in with only a few cries. Her recovery took the rest of the week, but it was worth it.

Here comes the fun cat story part

Bunnie also had an appointment for acupuncture later that week at the Veterinary Holistic Center. She’s had regular appointments for a couple of years because it clearly eases her lower back pain and increases her mobility.

In the past, she’s been fine with going.

This time though, she hid as only cats can. I told her we were going to see Dr. Kocen and she knows it’s not a big deal.

But she didn’t buy it. She didn’t come out. So I had to cancel the appointment. The folks at VHC understood, probably having heard this story more than once.

When I got off the phone, I called out loudly with a lot of exasperation in my voice,

“Bunnie, I canceled the appointment. You’re not going anywhere, so feel free to come out of hiding!”

Thirty seconds later, the little punk (a term of affection) sauntered down the stairs to say “Hi, I’d love a few treats!”

Her actions reminded me that all my animals are attuned to my thoughts, most likely because I’ve done tons of intuitive communicating over the years.

Most of the time, that’s a good thing. But as you can see, depending on the subject, it can make things a bit harder!

My task now is to remind her that she always comes home feeling better from our vet visits. And she’d make me very happy if she went into the carrier once in a while. It may take some time, but she’s worth it!

Has your beloved companion’s actions showed they were listening intuitively to you? I’d love to hear your story!
