Let’s enjoy a few silly animal songs! Many of these come from my childhood, so maybe they’re new to you. I hope you listen anyway! Because one of these songs might make you grin in spite of yourself. Or laugh out loud!

# 5: If I Could Talk to the Animals – Doctor Doolittle (musical)

This corny but fun musical tells the tale of an animal communicator. Rex Harrison doesn’t actually sing “If I Could Talk to the Animals.” But the lyrics are funny.

“Discussing Eastern art and dramas with intellectual llamas.”

And  the Eddie Murphy re-make was wonderful, too! Again, no music, but it’s silly and hilarious! So I just had to include it…

#4: Never Smile at a Crocodile – Peter Pan (movie)

I love that Nana the dog was the children’s’ nanny! Now that I re-watch the clip, I’m not sure Captain Hook got away from the crocodile.

#3: Song My Dog Wrote – Brendan Biondi

Oh, this was a fun find! Brendan Biondi really nails the relationship I’ve had with my wonderous dogs. It’s a bit of a silly animal song, but it’s true, too!

#2: You Can’t Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd – Roger Miller (A very silly animal song)

“But you can be happy if you’ve a mind to…” A very silly song with a sublime reminder that is priceless!

#1: The Chipmunk Song – Christmas Don’t be Late – Dave & the Chipmunks

ALVIN!!! I have never tired of hearing and singing this incredibly silly animal song!

And #1 Again: Who Let the Dogs Out – Baha Men

Because it’s the bestest, funniest, run-around-the-house-with-your-pets kind of song!
