Animal symbolism

Two hawks welcome the New Year!

What might it mean when two hawks welcome the New Year? I ask this because I saw two hawks within minutes of each other while walking with my new doggie, Newt, in the first few days of 2023. I was awestruck and decided to explore its meaning. And as I was drawn to make this the first topic of 2023, maybe it will resonate with you!

Two hawks as a New Year’s symbol

To be completely transparent, I’m veering off the subject of animal communication here and jumping into visioning. In my neighborhood, sighting a hawk isn’t a daily or even monthly occurrence. Because of this, it seems appropriate to find a symbolic meaning of hawk for this year.

Hawks are predators

In the non-human world, predators maintain balance of the species. Although we delight in many of the non-predators (rabbits for example), when they overrun an ecosystem, they can damage it. So, limiting numbers of non-predators is important. That’s where predators come in.

In 2023, there might be a rebalancing of resources which seems harsh. But it’s necessary. Hold the intention with me that we weather this rebalancing with grace and trust.

One hawk was soaring

According to Ted Andrews’ book, Animal-Speak, “Rising to a higher level can bring a rapid development of the psychic energies. The… hawk helps us in balancing using those senses appropriately. It teaches us the balance necessary to discover our true purpose in life.”

Moving our vibration and emotions to a higher level during this year’s rebalancing, especially if it seems harsh, will help us soar high enough to notice the positive when it’s not visible at a lower level.

One hawk was sitting

This second hawk was completely centered in her purpose as she sat in a tall tree. This wasn’t hesitation, rather there was a confident waiting for the next right action. In this, I see permission to consciously stop and wait to receive the KNOWING of the next right action in our life. We’re not required to do – do – do to get to the next place in our life.

Two hawks: one soaring, one sitting

The themes of balance and intuition/psychic energies come through again with the symbolic meaning of Number Two. Numerology.com shared, “Numerology number 2 is known … as a supremely feminine force, one that represents both grace and power. It is cooperative, always aiming to bring peace and balance back to a relationship or situation.

“This Numerology number is also very sensitive — of all the numbers, it has the strongest intuition.”

Two hawks welcome 2023 and us!

If you’re reading this, I suggest that if you see a rebalancing in your world that seems harsh, rise to a higher level, closer to compassion and love. When you’re unsure what to do next, stop and wait for an intuitive or psychic knowing about the next right step. Trust that cooperation will bring peace and balance.
