I hope this short discussion will awaken a deeper understanding of your relationship with your animal companions and give you some idea of what I do in this area.
When I became a Reiki Master and was working towards becoming a certified Quantum-Touch energy healer, I was encouraged to practice, practice, practice.
I first practiced on my dog, Eddy. At the time, she was gravely ill and was not responding to treatment. While I believe that my efforts eased her transition, she still passed away. I had to fly out the next day for a business trip and I felt her sitting in the aisle next to me the whole trip – very comforting.
But we still had our Siberian Husky, Mitsubishi, who seemed to have pain and stiffness in his back legs. I gently put my hands on him and “ran the energy,” to help his body heal.
This, I believe, was my first successful animal communication. He looked deeply into my eyes and I heard, “Don’t try that sh** on me! It killed Eddy!” Then he jumped off the couch.
Well! It was a successful communication but it wasn’t what I expected! Notes to self: 1) animals have their own free will, 2) animals have their own opinions and 3) they can swear! (At least, this one could.)
The story continues. Just before Christmas 2009, I woke up in the middle of the night to hear Mitsu panting fiercely. I touched his chest and I could feel his heart beating through his rib cage. I laid down next to him and this time, he let me “run the energy.” His heart rate and respiration returned to normal and we took him to the vet. He walked into the vet’s office.
Turns out Mitsu was bleeding internally from a mass on his spleen. Surgery and recovery were successful and the mass was benign.
Mother Nature gave him a special get-well present – the 2010 “Snowmageddon” in metro DC. It was heaven for this husky! We had him for two more wonderful years. He always welcomed my healing after that.
After “Mitsu” passed last year, we got another dog, Thunder, to be a companion for our little dog, Stella. Thunder was found running by himself in West Virginia. I started “seeing” or “sensing” disturbing scenes and wondered if he was sharing his previous life with me.
I started searching for training to help hone my communication skills and meld them with my healing skills. I’ve since completed Lori Spagna’s basic and advance animal communications classes.
What can an animal communicator and energy healer do?
- Find out what’s bothering animal companions and share that with their humans – this can be a teaching point for humans
- Help humans and animals re-negotiate troublesome animal behaviors (ex: potty issues, convincing cats to stay in the backyard to be safe)
- Teach humans how to to energetically share their love with their animals, even when they are not home
- Decrease the number of seizures an animal is having
- Clear up eye infections
- Communicate with animals who have passed
- Calm animals
- Decrease arthritis/joint pain as evidenced by an animal getting up and walking/trotting again
- Help an animal transition with less pain and more peace
